In today’s programme we’re discussing something that some people enjoy, some people can’t stop doing and others just find disgusting. I am of course talking about smoking. In several countries, including the UK, there is a smoking ban in public places – in other words it’s against the law to smoke in places such as railway stations and cafes. And it’s soon to be banned in a country where smoking is a popular habit. Today we’ll be looking at words and phrases to do with smoking but, as usual, we need to start with a question and this is for you to answer Feifei.

A little likeability can go a long way. Researchers found that if employees are disliked, it's almost irrelevant whether they're good at what they do, because other workers will avoid them.

Show you're a team player and demonstrate that you've got the greater good of the organization at heart.

Then, pull an all-nighter if you have to. It's that important.

It is a question that prompts much debate - what is the best way for a smoker to quit?

Some people advocate the method of cutting down gradually to a point where you no longer need and desire the nicotine hit. 
一些人提倡“慢斷法”，認為要一點點戒。
But, a new study has today quashed that theory, instead offering evidence that suggests the best way to give up is to go cold turkey.

Scientists confirmed that smokers who try to kick their habit bit by bit are less likely to succeed than those with the willpower to give it up in one go.

"Cold turkey" describes the actions of a person who abruptly gives up a habit or addiction rather than gradually easing the process through gradual reduction or by using replacement medication.
