medicine 跟 drug 的差異
雖然 medicine 跟 drug 都有「藥」的意思，但還是有差喔！medicine 指的是專門用來治療或預防各式疾病的藥物；drug 則通常是指麻醉劑、迷幻劑或興奮劑。drug 會使人心智麻木，不當使用的話可能會上癮，也因此 drug 通常帶有貶義，有毒品的意思。
除了上面兩個字外，也別忘了學學跟「治療」相關的字喔：
- cure 療法；治療
- remedy 治療；藥物；補救
- prescription 處方
- therapy 治療；療法
- treatment 治療；療法
吃藥該怎麼講
吃藥千萬別講 eat medicine ！那是直接翻譯的中式英文。吃藥正確的用法是 take medicine！
A: Are you feeling better now?
B: Yes, much better. I’ve been taking the medicine for three days.
A: Okay. Rest when you can!
A: 你有好點了嗎？
B: 有好多了。我已經吃了三天的藥。
A: 好，多休息！
各種藥物的英文
antacid 解酸劑；胃藥
antibiotic 抗生素
Antibiotic cures illnesses and infections caused by bacteria.
抗生素是用來治療細菌引起的疾病與感染。
antidote 解毒劑
也可以衍生為對某種情況的解藥或是矯正方法。
Empathy is the antidote to isolation, bullying, and dispute.
同理心是孤立、霸凌，以及爭吵的解藥。
antipyretic 退燒藥
caplet 橢圓形藥錠
capsule 膠囊
時間膠囊叫做 time capsule ，是人們把資料或物品埋藏在地底下以便跟未來的人溝通的一種方法。
cough drop 喉糖
cough syrup 咳嗽糖漿
英式英文又稱 cough mixture / cough sweet。
drops 藥水
眼藥水是 eye drops。
hypnotic 安眠藥
也可以叫做 sleeping pill。
painkiller 止痛藥
Do you have any painkillers? I’ve been having severe headache since this morning.
你有止痛藥嗎？我從今天早上開始頭就好痛。

在美國口語有避孕藥的意思。

vaccine 疫苗
注射疫苗的「注射」會用 inject 這個字。
